Donovan invites submissions on family law

The chairman of Oireachtas Committee on the Constitution, Denis Donovan, has called on people to make submissions to assist changes in the Law relating to The Family. His Committee is to look at the legal problems associated with gay rights, access for fathers to children, divorce maintenance and co-habitation. Submissions ranging from 1 to 100 pages will be accepted until January 31. Denis Donovan has said the Family Law has not changed fast enough since the 1937 Constitution. More : breakingnews.iol.ie |

Govt to relax ’in camera’ rule in family law proceedings
The Government is reportedly set to relax the 'in camera' rule that limits the people who can attend family law proceedings in the courts. At present, only those directly involved in family law cases like divorce and child custody battles can be in attendance in the courtroom.
